How a Diamond Is Created from Pet Fur

The science that lets you preserve an extraordinary bond forever

A diamond on a raw, dark stone edge

Every Animae diamond begins its story with a small sample of a beloved pet’s fur. Though it may seem unassuming, it contains carbon — the very element from which all natural diamonds are formed.

Advanced laboratory technology makes it possible to isolate this element and recreate the conditions under which nature forms diamonds deep beneath the Earth’s surface. The result is a genuine lab-grown diamond, physically, chemically, and optically identical to a natural diamond.

It is a remarkable fusion of science, precision, and emotion — one that transforms part of your animal’s story into the most enduring of gems.

Stage 01

Sample Analysis

Every project begins with a detailed analysis of the fur provided. Our specialists examine the material for carbon content and the parameters necessary to begin the diamond-creation process.

At this stage, we determine:

  • The carbon content of the sample
  • The amount of material needed to fulfill the order
  • The individual technological requirements of the process

This is the first step on the path to creating an exceptional diamond that will become a one-of-a-kind symbol of your bond.

Carbon Extraction and Purification

Following analysis, the process of isolating the carbon contained in the fur begins.

The material undergoes multi-stage purification, during which any remaining organic compounds and trace elements are removed.

This process includes:

  • Elimination of impurities
  • Separation of remaining elements
  • Preparation of pure material for the next stages

The result is isolated carbon — the foundation of the future diamond.

Achieving Jewelry-Grade Purity

The extracted carbon undergoes further refinement in controlled laboratory conditions.

The goal is to achieve an exceptionally high level of purity, essential for the proper growth of the diamond crystal.

Depending on the sample’s characteristics, purity can reach as high as:

99.99% (4N)

This stage lays the foundation for a stone of the highest jewelry-grade quality.

The Birth of the Diamond

The most fascinating stage of the process begins inside a specialized HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) chamber.

The purified carbon is subjected to conditions similar to those found deep within the Earth:

  • Temperature of approximately 2,700°C
  • Pressure of approximately 60,000 bar

Under these conditions, carbon atoms organize themselves into the crystalline structure of a diamond.

This is the moment when part of your pet’s story begins to take the form of the most precious stone in the world.

The growth process takes anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on the size of the diamond ordered.

Cutting and Finishing

Once growth is complete, the diamond passes into the hands of master jewelers.

Each stone is individually crafted to bring out its natural beauty and brilliance.

This process includes:

  • Precision cutting
  • Application of the chosen cut
  • Multi-stage polishing
  • Quality control

Only then is the diamond ready to be set in jewelry and begin a new chapter of its story.

From a Few Grams of Fur to a True Diamond

Creating an Animae diamond is a process that unites advanced chemistry, high-pressure physics, and jewelry craftsmanship.

The result is an authentic diamond created from material sourced from your own animal — a lasting symbol of attachment, friendship, and an extraordinary bond that stays with you every day.

This isn’t just technology. It’s the transformation of memories into something that will last for generations.
